Target Audience

The primary target audience for this initiative includes medical directors, pharmacy directors, clinical pharmacists, specialty pharmacists, and quality directors, as well as network physicians affiliated with managed care organizations (MCOs), health systems, and other payer organizations. Other managed care professionals include nurses, case managers, policy administrators, utilization managers, C-suite executives, and IT professionals.

Statement of Need/Program Overview

This CE activity reviews the Retinal Disease Quality Improvement Roadmap, a practical framework developed through interviews with payer stakeholders and retinal specialists, followed by a multi-stakeholder best-practices workshop to identify opportunities for improving retinal disease screening, access, care coordination, and treatment continuity. The infographic highlights prioritized quality improvement strategies across short-, medium-, and long-term time horizons, with a focus on payer-provider collaboration to address operational barriers, streamline utilization management, expand early detection efforts, enhance data integration, and improve patient access to evidence-based retinal care. Managed care professionals will gain insights into actionable approaches for advancing administrative efficiency, care coordination, outcomes measurement, and value-based strategies that support timely treatment and vision preservation for individuals with retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, and age-related macular degeneration.
