Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of medical directors, registered nurses, pharmacy directors, clinical pharmacists, specialty pharmacists, quality directors, as well as network physicians affiliated with various MCOs, health systems, and other payer organizations.
Statement of Need/Program Overview
For managed care professionals, retinal diseases—specifically, age-related macular degeneration—present a substantial challenge and as such there are unmet educational needs. Payers, tasked with weighing considerations of efficacy and drug costs, while balancing formulary placement, step therapy, site-of-care, and member access require instruction to implement optimal drug management initiatives and benefit design schema to facilitate patient access and outcomes in retinal diseases.
